Science that holds up when the gut breaks down.

about the project

University of Bristol spinout Ferryx launched its first consumer product, Ferrocalm. We helped them turn a decade of gut-health research into a human, and scientifically backed product story.

Built around the FX856 bacterial strain, Ferrocalm had a distinctive scientific proposition: it was designed to remain active during stress and IBS flare-ups, when conventional probiotics may struggle.

We created a short consumer film and a longer company-origin film, which translated the research into a clearer reason for customers to choose the product.

Communication Challenge

Ferryx had a significant scientific advantage — but this is hard to explain to customers who aren’t experts in microbiology.

In a market filled with similar-sounding probiotic claims, customers were being asked to understand bacterial strains, inflammation and microbiology, before they could appreciate why Ferrocalm was different.

Our Solution

Customers do want to hear more about the science, but they need to be able to relate.

We made founder Dr Jenny Bailey Cooper the human entry point into the science. Her experience of living with IBS gave customers an immediate reason to relate to the problem, before asking them to understand the science behind the solution.

The short film established that personal relevance quickly. The longer origin film then introduced Dr Tristan Cogan’s scientific expertise, the research journey and the specific characteristics that differentiated Ferrocalm from other products in the market.

Big Ideas,
Real Impact.

The companies changing the world often have the hardest stories to explain.

We help ambitious organisations communicate complex ideas through strategic film production, combining clarity, credibility and cinematic storytelling.

For us, every project starts with a simple conversation: what does your company need to communicate, who needs to hear it, and how can we make that message more powerful?
